The tanning profession has been around for centuries. It is an old and highly respected profession and today it is in demand like never before. Today, leather is in use in a wide range of products, from airplane seats, car seats and boat construction to shoes, clothing and bags. Each of these products places its own very special demands on the wide-ranging technical knowledge and experience of our tanners and leather technicians.

Working closely with the “Leather Institute and Tanning School Reutlingen (LGR)” we have been training journeymen tanners for decades. Many of them, after they have finished their training, end up with a full-time job in our company. The LGR is without a doubt the best school for tanners in the world and the one with the greatest practical relevance. Many of the world’s leading leather technicians learned their trade in Reutlingen. After a trainee has successfully completed their apprenticeship, it is possible to enter into a two-year course of technical studies to gain an even deeper understanding of the trade.
